Camp Cedar Ridge

What would it be like to spend a whole week-end focused on joy? If you are looking to cultivate more fun, joy, and lighthearted presence in your life, this retreat is for you.

Reconnect to joy in an authentic and embodied way. No toxic positivity here, just opportunities to be present, embodied, and connected. Often these simple ingredients make for the most joyful experiences. At this retreat, we also invite the joyful unfurling of spring and all our more-than-human kin to accompany us.

Joy is a practice we can cultivate and a practice we need to feel more fully human and more fully interconnected.  We invite you to leave the grind, tasks, and care-taking behind and enjoy a guided week-end retreat focused on remembering and experiencing joy. Slow down and reconnect to your Self so that you can tap into what brings you pleasure and joy, and savor that sweet joy with others. Rest and root into joyful experience to feel your health and wholeness expand. In a world steeped in fear and doom, and plenty of complex problems, we all need restorative community spaces to cultivate joyful meaning and renewal.

Together we will: Engage in embodied play and flow, rest and breathe deeply, reflect, & imagine, feel our feelings (even the not-so-joyful ones), and engage in forest therapy/earth-connection practices-- all with the purpose of connecting to joy.  Learn practices to support you in cultivating joy long after the retreat, like:

  • microdosing joy and savoring joy

  • discovering your own joyful earth connection practice

  • understanding what gets in the way of joy & how joy is related to sadness

  • crafting a joy menu

  • Imagining and envisioning and life with more joy

This retreat begins at 5pm Friday and ends in the early afternoon on Sunday.

Included: 2 nights lodging and all meals and snacks, carefully designed and guided group activities (Heather and Jo are creating a unique experience for you),  and ample open time for wandering, resting, and joyful play. Come on your own and meet new friends, or bring a friend and explore joy together.

Camp Cedar Ridge is a 35 acre property along Rock Creek that hosts a beautiful forest ecosystem in the gorgeous coastal range of northern Oregon. It's located about an hour from Portland. The land is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful--home to many trees, birds, elk, and other kin.

Cost:  $475- $575 Sliding Scale: Shared indoor rooms and bathrooms (2 people per room)

2 single rooms available (first come, first serve)

Deadline to register: April 1, 2024
