Holding space in times of
deep uncertainty
In this class, we will explore how to hold space for others in times that feel increasingly uncertain. How might we, as space-holders and culture-shifters, continue to show up and guide with calm, compassion, and courage? And how might we skillfully hold space for others, holding both the pain and possibility of uncertainty?

This will be a space to compassionately touch into the heart-ache and overwhelm we collectively feel, and to notice and drop below the swirling anxiety of our dominant culture.
We will connect to our wise spirits and practice meeting uncertainty in new ways. And we'll encounter useful facilitation tools for rooting into calm, deepening our compassion, and inviting courageous response.

We are facing so much uncertainty and change in the world around us and in our own lives--climate change, political and cultural upheaval, economic distress. It can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable in a dominant culture where we've been taught to control as much as we can. As we hold space for others who also feel the acute uneasiness of uncertainty, how might we show up in ways that offer more grounded healing to the collective?
In this three-session class we will take time to really drop into the question of how to effectively hold space in the deep uncertainty of these times with more calm, compassion, and courage. We will move through a progression of prompts and learning activities to: 1) help you meet uncertainty with less swirl and heaviness and 2) offer you spiritual and practical tools and resources to effectively guide and facilitate others through uncertainty.
We will start by noticing and feeling all that uncertainty brings up for us (including overwhelm, fear, anger or sadness) and turning towards it with calm awareness and compassionate practice.
We will learn how to calm our nervous systems with earth-based support, and we'll practice tools for turning toward our anxious and uncertain parts with compassion rather than control, anxiety, or dismissal.

Together we will learn how to cultivate more self-trust and heart-centered courage so that we can more effectively hold both the pain and possibility of uncertainty---the paradox of our time.
This class will offer space to listen deeply for our inner knowing of how to create more calm, compassion, and courage as part of Earth’s emergent healing process.

In holding space for others through uncertainty, we learn how to become a steady bridge between the fear of uncertainty and new emergent possibilities.

In this class we will:
-
compassionately observe how we typically meet uncertainty so that we understand how this affects our ability to hold space for others
-
learn powerful tools for meeting inherited cultural patterns of uncertainty with gentleness and calm
-
be guided in practices and visualizations to cultivate more calm and compassion
-
learn how to create nature-based anchors that support us so that we can hold space in partnership with the earth
-
root into our spirit's knowing to cultivate more courage and trust so that we can guide others through uncertainty
-
call in a courageous intention to guide us through uncertainty
-
learn and share in a small community of like-hearted others

"This class is an experience of being held and invited, into loving witness of all the parts of being human -- hopeful, tender, fearful, playful, brave, and questioning. I have a sense of communal belonging, as well as more expansive resource for how to be with uncertainty. I can picture using these body and soul practices that feel like a more sturdy bridge between fear and possibility."
